Inspired

Lately I've been seeing alot of other artist's and friends blogs who not only include their artwork but what inspires them, with hope to inspire others. Well they have inspired me to do the same. I love seeing what others love. Here is a glimpse into my loves.
I get lost in the world of Etsy, quite often. I love to look at other things people create and it makes me want to be more creative.
So here are some fun Etsy finds for today the last day in January; a good day to get inspired to create!
This bird guitar strap I love. Being a musician and an artist I love it when they can come together. Also if you are looking for a gift idea for me, look no further.

also on Etsy this vintage couch. LOVE, yellow and grey...yes please!

This funky cabinet

photography that captures the beauty in aged and distressed items. and lets face it something about hinges always catches my artistic eye.

I have some new paintings I need to get to photographing soon. So check back with me soon. And also tell me what inspires you.

Black Mountain’s Gallery of Art Celebrates Local Artists

With a December 19th Reception

Black Mountain, NC (December 2010) -- AnTHM: Art – Threads – HeavyMetal is honoring its newly featured local artists with a reception and gallery specials on Sunday, December 19, 1-4 p.m. AnTHM, which opened in September, now represents over ten artists who live in the Black Mountain / Asheville area. Many of these local artists will be present at the event, and the gallery is offering a one day only 15% discount on local art. Guests will enjoy a tasting of the 2010 Beaujolais Nouveau sponsored by The Merry Wine Market, hot wassail and a local cheese sampling.

“AnTHM is constantly changing as I discover and add the talents of local artists to the gallery,” says Owner Cappi Macsherry. “This reception is an opportunity to celebrate our local artists, both established and emerging, and for the community to enjoy a festive gathering.”

Local artists featured at the event include scarf felter Ruth Duckworth, painter Becky Swann, artisans Ethlyne Davidson, Eileen Hallman, Briar Vapaamies, Holly Mitchell and Alex Rottenberg, photographer Cornelia Katchen, and Melissa Hahn, who makes purses and totes. Painter Ed Fadool from Burlington will also be featured at the event.

“Local art makes a wonderful and unique gift, especially when you have a chance to meet the artist,” says Cappi. “During this season and always, AnTHM is about connecting local and regional artists with the community.”...
